Serious bird watchers, in reasonably good condition, will go wherever great birding action is to be found. Half the fun is getting deep into the woods to find the elusive ruffled grouse, half-way up the mountain to get a close look at the eagles on the ledges above, or to the other side of the lake to see the nesting swans. We have an active bunch of regulars who love the adventure of getting there as much as the views to be had when we arrive. Many of us prefer a compact, go-anywhere set of durable binoculars.
